DO NOT HAVE GAME NIGHT ON AN EMPTY STOMACH

Hangry people can get distracted easily, so make sure you fuel up on your favorite snacks.

PICK ONE PERSON TO BE YOUR DESIGNATED HOST

If you do not do this chaos will most likely ensue, especially with your more competitive players. This person should not play the games so they can remain impartial, but they will still have a blast getting to lay down the law!

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Avoid spending half of your game night arguing and flipping through a rule book. Keep it simple and limit the amount of time it takes to learn each game. Game nights where everybody feels comfortable jumping in to participate are the best way to go.

GET MOVING

Make sure to pick games that involve some sort of movement. Getting your blood flowing increases the energy and level of engagement of the whole group.

KEEP IT COMPETITIVE

Friendly competition strengthens connections by getting teams to work together towards one goal. Competition is also the best motivation for players to actively participate in the activity the whole time.

TIME IT RIGHT

While game nights with the kids are a blast, if you’re looking for an adults-only game night, try to pick a time after your kid’s bedtime. This way you and your players can be distraction-free, grab a drink and finally get some time to really let loose!

TRY GOING VIRTUAL

Reconnect with family and friends who you haven't seen in awhile, while still social distancing. Most video chat applications work well for this but don’t get too fancy with the tech, and try to keep your total number of players to less than 10 people.
